When you hold down a key on the keyboard, how slow or fast do you want it to repeat? How much do you want the cursor to blink?
Keyboard Properties
Open the control panel.
- Press the start button.
- Click the Control Panel item.
Open the printers and other hardware.
- Click the Printers and Other Hardware link.
Select the keyboard properties.
- In the or pick a Control Panel icon section,
- Click the Keyboard link.
These are the keyboard properties.
This completes the keyboard properties.
Speed
When you hold down a key on the keyboard, how slow or fast do you want it to repeat? How much do you want the cursor to blink?
- Click the Speed tab.
How long or short do you want to hold down a key for it to start repeating?
- Slide the Repeat delay knob to Long.
- You have to hold down a key for a long time before it starts repeating.
- Slide the Repeat delay knob to Short.
- Almost right after you hold down a key, it starts repeating.
If you hold down a key and it starts repeating, how slow or fast do you want to repeat the key?
- Slide the Repeat rate knob between Slow and Fast.
- Slowly repeat a key or quickly repeat a key.
Try out your repeat delay and your repeat rate.
- Type into the Click here and hold down a key to test repeat rate field.
How much do you want the cursor to blink?
- Slide the Cursor blink rate knob between None and Fast.
- Don't blink at all, blink a little bit, or blink a lot.
The apply button changes the speed. The ok button changes the speed and closes the keyboard properties. The cancel button closes the keyboard properties without changing the speed.
