Change an Account

You can change your account name and your account picture whenever you want. You should create a password for your account so other people can't use your computer while you're not there, and you should change your password at least once a year.
Change an Account
Open the control panel.
- Press the start button.
- Click the Control Panel item.
Open the user accounts.
- Click the User Accounts link.
Change an account by selecting an account, for example, change my study-blast account.
- In the or pick an account to change section,
- Click the studyhyphenblast item.
This is what do you want to change about your account.
This completes changing an account.
Change My Name
Change your account name.
- In the What do you want to change about your account? page,
- Click the Change my name link.

- In the Provide a new name for your account page,

- Type Type a new name for studyhyphenblast as your new name.
- Press the Change Name button.
This completes changing your name.
Change My Picture
Change your account picture, for example, change it to chess.
- In the What do you want to change about your account? page,
- Click the Change my picture link.

- In the Pick a new picture for your account page,
-
- Click the chess item.
- Press the Change Picture button.
Change your account to any picture on your computer.
- Click the Browse for more pictures link.
- Press the Cancel button.
If you don't know how file browsing works, don't worry, we'll learn about it later.
Create a Password
Create a strong password that's easy to remember by thinking of four random words, for example, something like "PianoShelfBlanketDoor" is a good password.
- In the What do you want to change about your account? page,
- Click the Create a password link.

- In the Create a password for your account page,

- Type Type a new password as PianoShelfBlanketDoor.
- Type Type the new password again to confirm as PianoShelfBlanketDoor.

- You can type a password hint, but you have to be careful that it doesn't give away
your password to anyone who turns on your computer. It might be better to write it down
somewhere safe.

- Press the Create Password button.
When you turn on your computer, you have to enter your password.
- Type Type your password as PianoShelfBlanketDoor.
- Press the green arrow button.
If the screen saver password protects your computer, then you have to enter your password.
- Type the Password as PianoShelfBlanketDoor.
- Press the OK button.
This completes creating a password.
Change My Password
You should change your password at least once a year.
- In the What do you want to change about your account? page,
- Click the Change my password link.

- In the Change your password page,
-
- Type Type your current password as PianoShelfBlanketDoor.
- Type Type a new password as your new password.
- Type Type the new password again to confirm as your new password.

- You can type a password hint or not.

- Press the Change Password button.
This completes changing your password.
Remove My Password
If your computer is locked in your room where no one else can ever get to it, then you can remove your password, but even then, I don't recommend it.
- In the What do you want to change about your account? page,
- Click the Remove my password link.

- In the Are you sure you want to remove your password? page,
-
- Type To verify your identity, type your current password as your
password.
- Press the Remove Password button.
When you turn on your computer, you do not have to enter your password anymore, and the screen saver does not password protect your computer anymore.
