There is some maintenance that you can do to get the best performance out of your computer, like defragmenting your hard drive, but you don't have to do anything like that on a new computer, so we'll learn more about it later.

Performance and Maintenance

Open the control panel.

• Press the start button.
• Click the Control Panel item.

Open the performance and maintenance.

• Click the Performance and Maintenance link.

This is the performance and maintenance.

Close the performance and maintenance.

• In the top right corner,
• Press the red X button.

This completes the performance and maintenance.
